What is JPG?

JPG and JPEG refer to the same image format, which is the Joint Photographic Experts Group format. The reason their extensions differ is that early Windows systems limited file extensions to three characters, so JPEG was shortened to JPG.

So it is exactly the same as JPEG. Currently, almost all software supports both JPG and JPEG file extensions, so using either one is fine.

FAQ About JPG Converter

  • Which input formats does the JPG converter support?

Currently, our JPG converter supports converting PNG, JPEG, and WEBP formats to JPG. We will add support for more file formats in the future.

  • Will JPG files lose quality after being converted using a JPG converter?

The JPG format uses lossy compression, which means there may be slight quality loss during the conversion process. However, in most cases, this loss is difficult to notice with the naked eye.

  • Is there a size limit for the files to be converted?

We haven't imposed any size limits on the files, but the maximum size of the images that can be processed depends on the client's device. The higher the device's configuration, the larger the files it can handle.

  • Can I convert files in bulk?

Of course! Our JPG converter supports bulk uploading, processing, and downloading of images. All bulk operations are unlimited and free of charge.
